Unfortunately no. Because the venture capital firms often need financing of the investment projects, the return on which is difficult to predict, the bank cannot afford going into this risky segment. Bank products are adjusted more for ordinary borrowers, the scheme and the format of the activities of which are clear for us.

Vice-President, Deputy Director on small business clients care, VTB 24
Unfortunately, the number of such projects in small business is extremely small. This is due to many factors, primary of which is the longer term of such projects. Of course, the businessmen are not rushing to develop and invest in long-term innovation projects in a situation where most of industries are experiencing economic and financial downturn.
VTB 24 as one of the largest banks in the country has in its loan portfolio the projects, which are somehow related to innovation and technology, but the proportion of such projects is insignificant.

Financing of start-ups is a separate issue. Venture capital investment - is a different kind of business, which has its own rules and principles that are different from bank loans. In the context of a commercial bank, we are responsible not only to shareholders, but also to depositors.
